too much on my mind! Friday, Jun 19 2009

So I have returned from my trip! It was lots of fun but I am SURE you don’t want to hear all the boring details, so I will spare you them. (But I will add a picture or two at the bottom of this post, because I can and they are cute!)

When I got to work today I realized that if I didn’t deposit my paycheck by the end of the day my account balance would be -2 dollars. WHAT?!?! Well, apparently 6th street is more expensive than one, ok me, would think. But thank God for Tyler because he deposited my paycheck and all is good. But it really freaked me out, so I got home and made a calander titled ‘Days without spending money’ and a daily spending report to keep me on track. No more red bulls in the morning :( :( :( or eating out for me. I do have lots of money in savings but I am a freak about it and won’t spend any of it. I used to be the BIGGEST saver ever but now I am not, and that needs to change. So it will :)

I also am about to make a bucket list! When I went to my sister’s apartment in Austin this weekend her roommate had one and it really inspired me. (Thanks Brittany!) So I will post a few of them after I do it :)

And I am also going to start recommending a good band/artist for ya’ll on every post. Today’s is…Eric Church!! Go to myspace.com/ericchurch and listen to Love your love the most. AMAZING.

Forgetful [Friday] Thursday, Jun 11 2009

Yes, I am quite aware that it is a thursday. But heck, I don’t have to work tomorrow so, for me at least, it is a friday!

I was certain that it was going to be a great morning, as a-i didn’t wake up wanting to fall right back asleep for another 12 hours and b-i packed for my trip to houston/austin LAST NIGHT, which for me is a BIG deal as i am a HUGE procrastinator and not so very organized. (Thanks MOM!) I even (gasp) picked out my outfit last night and (super gasp) put on makeup this morning! WHO AM I?!

But the morning was shot when I got to work and realized i was sans-phone. No big deal I thought, just left it at the apartment and I can deal without it for five hours. So I forget all about it and log onto facebook where my older sister, Elizabeth/Boo, told me that CVS called my dad and they have my phone. Yes, I left my phone at CVS this morning when I was buying stamps. Seriously? But, at least they let me know because I would have torn my apartment inside out looking for that thing. (My freshly cleaned apt might I add, thanks for doing a great job Beck! It looks FANTASTIC!)

So now when I get off at one I have to swing by CVS, grab my phone there, and swing by the apt to get my luggage and hit the road! I’m headed to houston tonight to spend the night with Boo and Chad, my sister and her husband. (and their sweet pup, Lily). I love going home so I can spend time with them. I am seven years younger than Boo, so I didn’t get to have her there as my much needed older sister for advice when I was growing up as she left for college when I was in fifth grade. But boy have we made up for that! I love how close we have gotten, and I love spending even more time with her now because of how freaking AWESOME her husband is. Serisouly, Chad is amazing. I can only hope that one day I meet someone that will treat me like he does to Boo.

Anyways, after my night when them, I’m headed to my parents house for Friday night to hang out with them and Wyatt. Wyatt is my neighbor and my best friend Lyndsay’s cousin. He is also the only man I need in my life. I love that little guy! The unconditional love from a child is quite possibly one of the greatest things on the planet.

Saturday morning I am driving to Austin to have lunch with my little sister, Megan. She just finished her freshman year at UT and stayed in Austin for the summer. And then at 2 I am meeting my amazing friends from high school at the Hilton to celebrate Haylie’s TWENTY FIRST! She is the last of us from high school to turn the big 2-1, so we haven’t gotten a chance to all go out together. (well, there was that one time when we went downtown and had to run away from the bouncer…but we can forget about that!) I am SO excited to be reunited with my girls and have an awesome weekend :)

Then I’m back to Houston on Monday for a dentist appointment where they will possibly tell me it is time to take my wisdom teeth out and then I will definitely tell them to ASAP refer me to someone who will put me under for it. You see, my dentist can’t do that. I would have to be AWAKE. There is NO WAY I am doing that while I can hear everything. I know I will be high as a kite during it, but still. No. Thanks.

Then its back to Baton Rouge on Tuesday for work. WHEW! I just realized how many things I am jamming into this weekend! I need a drink…

Watch out Omaha…the Tigers are coming!!

The LSU/Rice series was a great one. Both games were won, but LSU did it in dramatic fashion. I like my teams to win(obviously)…but I like close, exciting games rather than blowouts. I was kept on the edge of my seat during the friday night game, with LSU starting the game trailing, but WOW did we make a come back-Ryan Schimf is now one of my favorite players on the team! And Matty Ott-I don’t think I have to say anything else about him! Overall, it was a great two games and I am looking forward to Omaha. (We just have to keep the errors at a minimum…)

But in a different form of dramatic fashion..FSU will not be joining the tigers in Omaha. WOW so many things went wrong for the Noles. First of all, with the most recent game, the fact that Posey was closing is a testament to the fact that the pitching is lacking. HE IS NOT A PITCHER! I really don’t think I can say anything else about the games, it will just make me too mad. But overall, it was a great season for the noles. Nobody expected them to make it to the postseason, yet alone host a super, so great job guys!!

Now I just hope Southern Miss can upset UF once again, go to hell gaytors, go to hell!

67 Days of Smiles :) Tuesday, Jun 2 2009

I randomly found a link to this contest, 67 Days of Smiles, and I feel like it is screaming my name. Basically, if you win, you and a friend/spouse/family member get to spend 67 days in Orlando, Florida for FREE while blogging about all the attractions. You also get a fully furnished condo while there and $25,000 to cover living expenses back at home. Thats freaking AWESOME!

I have ALWAYS said that my favorite place in the world is Disney…how cool would it be to live there for two months?! Only catch: I would have to take a semester off school (which would make me graduate in May 2011) AND I would have to find someone (21+) who would be willing to do the same. Any takers? haha…no really.

Last year I thought about being a Disney Intern and spending the entire spring semester in Orlando. I even applied, just never signed up for the interview. I kept coming up with excuses as to why I couldn’t go…like what about rent? what about school?…etc. Now obviously those are easy to get around…so that meant that for some reason I am just afraid to go. Not afraid to go far…that has never been a problem. (Since the age of like two I wanted to go to school 12 hours away). And I have always wanted to live in Florida.

Upon digging deeper…I think I narrowed it down to friends. I never had a problem making friends when I was younger, but suddenly in college I developed a shyness that drives me crazy! I don’t know where it came from and I don’t like it!

And then I got off topic…I tend to do that! Anyways, I REALLY want to do this…so I’m off to find a friend/spouse/family member!
